It's every little girl's ambition to be a famous model, but few make it.  However, many girls (and boys!) have successful careers as models, often doing it on a part-time basis alongside another job.

As a model - or if you have modelling ambitions - your Portfolio is an essential business tool.  Photographers and Agencies who might book you need to see a variety of "looks" to ensure that you fit their requirements before booking you.  The key elements are clarity, good lighting and poses to show off your looks, your shape and your ability to portray different characters.

Beware!!  Some agencies will try to get you to pay them a lot of money for shooting a portfolio (and you usually have to trek to London).

The alternative is to book the only photographer in the region who has qualified for membership of the Society of International Fashion and Glamour Photographers (SIFGP).

So How Do I Get Started?
Before you waste time and money chasing round looking for agencies or joining online modelling websites contact me for no-obligation advice.  I know what works, what doesn't work and the scams that abound out there.

Do I Have To Go Nude Or Topless?
Emphatically NO!  Many photographers are simply looking for reasonably attractive models with the ability to strike a range of poses and facial expressions.  Having a lot of clothes in different styles helps a great deal.  I've got to admit that going topless or nude will open up further opportunities, but if you're not comfortable with the idea don't do it.
